Andre Achebe is a basketball coach and youth developer who helped found and leads Titans Basketball Academy in Abuja, Nigeria.
He’s the Head Coach and co-founder of Titans Basketball Academy, a grassroots basketball organization focused on training fundamentals and life skills in young players.

He studied Physical and Health Education at Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) and has coached hundreds of youths through the Academy.

Aside from the Academy, he has been Head Coach at Government Secondary School Karu, Abuja, and worked with the NBA-sponsored PowerForward program there.

Under his coaching, teams from the Academy have won awards in junior competitions. 1. Fundamentals First Before anything else, players learn the basic skills of basketball—like dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense. Achebe believes that good fundamentals are the foundation for success at higher levels.
2. Discipline & Work Ethic Achebe focuses on building disciplined players who work hard in both practices and games. This means arriving early, listening actively, and giving full effort every moment.
3. Life-Skills as Part of Training He also teaches important life lessons—teamwork, respect, communication, and resilience. These lessons help players become better people and athletes.
4. Confidence & Growth Mindset Achebe encourages players to believe in themselves, learn from mistakes, and stay positive even when things are tough. This builds confidence and a growth mindset.
Training sessions include drills that reinforce essential skills:
Dribbling drills to improve ball control Passing drills to make accurate and quick decisions Shooting practice with emphasis on form and consistency Defense positioning and footwork basics These drills are repeated often so players build muscle memory.
